Snail mail swap

My partner, bhmakes, is part of the Slow Design movement and as part of this she participated in a snail mail swap where makers and designers around the world send each other packages through the post. I love the immediacy of the internet and modern technology but there is something pretty special about anticipating something through the post. She made some beautiful notebooks and included one of my cards along with a pen and a pencil. One of the people who recieved her package, One Craftee Mumma, took this picture which includes my design and I really, really like it.

Sunday morning market

I was down at the Sunday Morning Market on Chatsworth Road in Hackney yesterday sharing a table with bhmakes. It was a really fun experience and we had good sales. We're going to be at a few more markets in the near future. I have added a pane on here which lets you know where we'll be if you fancy coming down to say hello.

James Brown

I helped out bhmakes at the Designers/Makers market in Hackney yesterday. One of the other stalls was a printmaker, James Brown, who had some really good linocut posters which I felt evoked propaganda posters with the colours and styles used. I checked out his website today and I absolutely love his geometric linocuts - so inspiring. You should check him out: http://generalpattern.blogspot.com/
