Revolutionary Mexican prints

Ignacio Aguirre, Emiliano Zapata, the great leader of the revolutionary peasant movement, 1948, Linocut

Jose Guadalupe Posada, The Skeleton of Pascual Orozco, 1912, Photorelief

Arturo Garcia Bustos, 28 Years of fight against imperialism, 1947, linocut

A little while ago I went to the Revolution on Paper exhibition at the British Museum. I love the idea that art and printmaking were used as a way to communicate revolutionary ideas to the people. It was incredibly inspiring and one of the principle reasons I began printmaking. I would love to be able to produce work which is somewhere near to being this good one day.
